 Gangas. Música. Comida. Ropa Vintage. Pero sobre todo el mercadillo de Portobello es conocido por concentrar una gran VARIEDAD DE CULTURAS. ¿El mejor plan para un sábado en Londres?  No tengo duda que es este. Portobello Marquet es más que un mercadillo para ir de compras. Es el lugar perfecto para perderte y disfrutar de un ambiente muy versátil. Situado al este de Londres  en el barrio de Nothing Hill, es considerado uno de los mercadillos más famosos en el mundo.  He ido cientos de veces pero hoy era un día más especial porque me acompañaba mi amiga Lucía, grata visita desde España. ¿Nos acompañas?

Bargain. Music. Food. Vintage Clothes.  But Portobello Market is worldwide known for the huge  diversity of cultures that it concentrates.  I can’t imagine any other best plan for a Saturday in London than going to Portobello Market in West side of the city. This is not just a market it's also a place to get lost and enjoy the  big diveristy around. Also, this is one of the most famous street markets in the world. I have gone loads of times but today was weighed more exciting because my friend Lucía have come from Spain. ¿Do you want to join us?

Se celebra todos los SÁBADOS. Es aconsejable ir entorno a las 10 de la mañana si no quieres encontrar grandes multitudes.  Portobello Market comenzó en el año 1927 de Lunes a Sábado donde también se practicaba el conocido trueque.

It holds every Saturday. It’s advisable going around 10 am in the morning if you don’t want to run into a big crowd. Portobello Market started trading hours from Monday to Saturday in 1927. The bartering was very common in here at that time.

Nos bajamos en la parada de NOTHING HILL. Y caminamos 10 minutos por Portobello Road hasta llegar al mercadillo. Este tramo también está lleno de tiendas. Nosotras encontramos este seiscientos en venta en medio de la calle.

We got off at NOTHING HILL station. We walked 10 minutes long through Portobello Road until we get at the fleamarket. We found a SEAT 600 for selling on the way.

En este mercadillo puedes disfrutar de tres experiencias: antigüedades al comienzo, comida hacia la mitad y ropa de segunda mano o moda vintage en el último tramo. Nosotras fuimos directas hacia el final, ¿Lo dudabas?

Today, the market serves up three experiences -antiques and bric-a-brac to the south, fruit and vegetables in the middle, with second-hand clothing and vintage fashion. We went straight to the end ¿Did you have a doubt?

En los laterales encuentras una oferta muy variada de pequeños restaurantes y tiendas con una selección de comidas de todas las partes del mundo.

Portobello offers an unusual wide range of small, independent shops with a fine selection of ethnic food shops serving the diverse local community.

Lo curioso de este lugar es que siempre te encuentras algo interesante que comentar en el ambiente. Como esta extraña escena de perros escuchando música de un órgano.

There's always something interesting going on along Portobello's bustling market, including this bizarre scene of dogs in a pram listening to a barrel organ.

Como puedes comprobar algunos de los puestos son un poquito más temporales que otros.

Si vas a Londres, ésta es una visita obligada. No sólo de compras sino para perderse entre la multitud y descubrir sorpresas. Nosotras encontramos la voz de un ángel en el cuerpo de esta mujer. No dudamos en dejarnos llevar por su música durante un par de horas mientras tomamos unas buenas pintas. En el primer sorbo mi amiga Lucía y yo sonreímos afirmando , ESTO ES LONDRES. Dejáte llevar !

If you go to London, this is a must visit. Not just for shopping but to get lost between the crowds and find out great surprises. We were drawn by an angel voice that it turns out to be this woman. We went with the flow of her music for a couple of hours while we had good pints. After the first sip my friend Lucía and I smiled to each other and nodded, THIS IS LONDON. Go with the flow !
